Each unit uses ≈80% less power daily
Consistent temperature, always available
Built-in Wi-Fi and Smart Home compatibility
Corrosion-resistant, built to last
Our system combines high-efficiency heat pumps with thermal accumulator tanks to heat water during low-demand periods, store it efficiently, and deliver consistent output throughout the day.
This reduces peak-time energy consumption, stabilises water temperature, and lowers your monthly electrical costs, whether you’re running a family home or supplying hot water to 500 residents.

Based on average electricity prices of R4.50 per kWh with 15% increase over time.
Savings assume 50% of electricity used for water heating and Thermotank saves 80% of that.
Calculations performed over a 10-year period.
The ThermoTank uses an advanced low-pressure heat exchange system to heat water efficiently by drawing free thermal energy from the surrounding air. This captured heat is transferred into an insulated storage tank, where water is maintained at a steady 60°C — effectively acting as a thermal “hot water battery.”
When hot water is needed, high-pressure municipal water flows through a stainless steel heating coil inside the tank, instantly absorbing heat as it passes through. The system continuously monitors and regulates temperature to ensure consistent, energy-efficient hot water delivery while using far less electricity than conventional geysers.
| Feature / Benefit | ThermoTank | Gas Water Heater | Solar Geyser |
|---|---|---|---|
| Running Costs | Ultra-low electricity | Expensive gas bills | Savings depend on sun |
| Performance | Works day & night | Limited by gas supply | Sun-dependent, inconsistent |
| Safety | Explosion-proof low-pressure tank | Gas & combustion risks | High-pressure tank, limescale |
| Maintenance | Minimal upkeep, no limescale | Regular burner service | Panels & pipes need cleaning |
| Water Pressure | Full municipal pressure | Pressure can fluctuate | Pressure depends on tank |
| Smart Control | Wi-Fi & smart home ready | Manual control | Limited or manual control |
Engineered for Efficiency

Uses only 750W of electricity by harnessing heat from the air — significantly reducing monthly power costs.

Delivers hot water equivalent to a 200L geyser while maintaining strong municipal water pressure.

Wi-Fi enabled with Smart Home compatibility for easy monitoring and control.

No limescale build-up and corrosion-resistant stainless steel coils ensure long-term durability.
Recommended to be installed as close to the house as possible. Avoiding as much as possible heat loss.
Unit can be installed as is without ducting but we do recommend you install them in these instances. – Installed close to a tree and allows the leaves to fall / enter the openings at the top. – Installed directly under a roof overhang with no gutters that allows mass water to fall / enter the openings at the top. – Installed indoors and air holes on top are closer than a meter to the ceiling to avoid cold air going back into the system.
The element can be disconnected to not come on, warranty will not be affected as long is it’s done by an authorised Magneto Thermals & EMS installer / technician.
No, has to be controlled through the app or controller and not to be connected separately or warranty is void.
Unit can be connected to an inverter system and not directly to solar panels as unit has a South African standard 3-point plug which cannot be cut off as that will immediately void your warranty. Unit requires 220V.
The unit was designed for easy installation. However, any new electrical connections and existing geyser modification should be done by qualified professionals.
For warranty purposes the commissioning sheet, warranty registration and installation must be completed correctly. For insurance purposes, or if done through third parties, a CoC might be necessary.
ThermoTank needs to be serviced at least once a year by and approved aircon technician (Twice a year in coastal areas).
